Jaw crusher is the main crusher equipment in stone crushing production line. After long terms operation, the jaw crusher will appear problems, in this text, we talk about the repairing and troubleshooting for jaw crusher.
I. The repair methods of the jaw crusher:
(1) Check the wear condition of jaw plate. Jaw plate is made of high manganese steel casting. In order to increase the raw material crushing ability, working surface of jaw plate is cast into tooth form. When jaw crusher work, its lower side is easy to wear, then you can switch the upper side and lower side, if both side are wearing out, a new jaw plate should be replaced. Old jaw plate can be repaired with surfacing hard alloy. Jaw tooth wear under 5 mm can be directly repaired with surfacing hard alloy, for wear more than 5 mm, old jaw plate should be firstly welded ordinary electrode surfacing layer, and then weld joint welding layer, finally the surfacing hard alloy, usually the thickness of the hard alloy layer is 3 to 5 mm.
(2) Check the wear condition of toggle plate and toggle seat. Toggle plate is made of gray cast iron, mainly used for pressure resistance, so the wear process is slow, you can recover size with casting iron welding rod when elbow end badly worn. Toggle seat are made of steel sheet, which is not easy to wear, you can replace it with new one when worn without repair.
(3) The rolling bearing (or bush) of eccentric shaft must be lubricated periodically. Each time when do minor repair, you should check bearing wear condition and keep record.
(4) The wedge fixed bolt for jaw crusher is easy to loose, so operating workers must check each fixed bolt every day. General repair interval for jaw crusher is 30 to 40 days.
The medium-small type of jaw crusher usually recovered to the original performance by repairing or minor repairs, don’t need to make an overhaul. The large type of jaw crusher could be recovered to the operational performance by overhauling if necessary.
II. The repair contents of jaw crusher are as follows:
(1) Clean and inspect the eccentric shaft and bearings, usually the eccentric shaft and bearings should be cleaned once every 6-8 months and be replaced when the clearance of rolling bearings exceed the limit value.
(2) Replace the jaw plates. The old jaw plates can be repaired with minor repairs methods as the spare parts for next repair. The side liners wear is small, no need to be replaced in every repairing.
(3) Check or replace the toggle plates, toggle seats and tension springs, etc. The springs must be replaced when break. Replacing the adjustable bolts fixed on the adjustable slide rails which should be adjusted frequently. The threaded part wear faster and its service life is short. Other parts should be repaired same as minor repairs.
The repairing interval time of jaw crushers should be decided according to the working conditions, commonly 12 to 16 months.
